20 Oct A sportive and unusual week-end!
Here is in images the sum-up of a very nice team week-end, sportive and outdoors, organized for a group of 16 professionals.
The day started with an unforgettable and thrill 90 minute experience across the roof of the world’s most popular entertainment venue. The group enjoyed spectacular 360 degree views of London from the viewing platform in the centre of the roof, before finishing with a thrilling descent back to base to complete their adventure
The climbers are attached to a secure continuous cable system that travels the length of the walkway. You will use a climb latch, which is a safety device, to attach yourself to the cable system. The adventure offers a 28° ascent on a walkway 380m long and 52m above the ground. A unique and bracing experience full of energy to start a dynamic day!
To reach the sportive activity of the afternoon, the participants have crossed the Tames by cable car. The view isn’t as spectacular as from the top of the 02 but we can see the Olympic Park and its orbite, the Old Royal Naval College of Greenwich, The City and the Gherkin, the Docks…
The afternoon was dedicated to rowing. Just opposite the city airport, the London Watersports Centre boasts access to two fantastic bodies of water. Royal Albert Dock is one of only four 2000m rowing and kayaking courses in the UK and Victoria Dock offers some of the best sailing conditions anywhere in London.
The activity includes:
- A coaching session from qualified professional staff
- A competition that will involve side-by-side racing
- Catering upon request
Exemple of timing:
15:00 Arrive: Safety briefing and introduction to centre
15:15 Indoor Coaching: On the Concept2 indoor rowing machines and the indoor rowing tank. Participants will learn the fundamental movements of the rowing technique as individuals.
16:00 On Water Coaching: Participants will move onto the water in coxed quads and learn how to maximise boat speed from an efficient and co-ordinated effort.
16:45 A short break to recap on what has been learnt and then how to approach race tactics
17:00 Racing! A straight line mulit-lane contest with medals for all competitors.
18:00 Finish, shower and change and a BBQ on the dockside if requested.
Finally, we finished with a competition that was involving a straight line mulit-lane contest with medals for all competitors.
The way back to the centre of London with the DLR was a way for the group to discover the futurist buildings of Canary Wharf and this side of London that only a small part of tourist knows.
The dinner took place in a restaurant with a view on the Tower Bridge and the evening started with a cocktail at the ice bar.
Client’s recommendation for this day:
